The 3 Main Types of Exercises
In home exercises can be done without equipment. These can be stand-alone programs or can be part of a general fitness routine. Stretching exercises are the simplest and yet the most important of these in home exercises that you can do. Stretching the muscles maintain flexibility and suppleness. This kind of exercise should be the first one in line in any exercise program. They can be done while warming up for the more demanding exercises, or as a program by itself.
The other important type that should be incorporated into your in home exercises are the aerobic exercises. This will target heart and cardiovascular muscles. Activities such as running, dancing, swimming, and cycling fall under this classification. This is a moderate type of exercise. The important thing to remember when doing them is to maintain even and steady breathing. They are effective fitness activities that build endurance. They are most successful when done in conjunction with flexibility and anaerobic exercises.
Anaerobic exercise is the one that needs no air, as opposed to aerobic which literally means “with air.” These exercises are called non-endurance. They instead work on building muscle mass and power in the body. Specifically, these are the weight lifting and weight training activities. In home exercises such as these are the only kinds that need special equipment. Weights and dumbbells can be procured second hand, however. They can also be bought gradually, as the need arises. An exercise regimen should always be done at a pace, with weights added on gradually as your body gains in strength.
All these three; the flexibility, the aerobic, and the anaerobic exercise types, when fitted into a comprehensive in-home exercise program will develop a fit and healthy body. Do this on a regular basis until the fitness plan becomes a habit and you are on your way to a hale and hearty life that will benefit until old age.
